FAQs about Sleipnir VPN
FAQs
How does Sleipnir Firewall + VPN work?
A firewall forms a secure barrier between your device (phone, tablet, or computer) and the internet—it blocks unwanted trackers, viruses, and more from your device. A virtual private network (VPN) creates a private network for you and your device, no matter how you’re accessing the internet—even on a public or non-secure Wi-Fi network. Sleipnir VPN offers the benefits of both VPN and a firewall to protect you online. It protects at the network level, on your entire device, on every app you use.

Sleipnir VPN is available in the Sleipnir Browser for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. You must have Sleipnir installed in order to use Sleipnir VPN.

Why would I switch local servers? How do I do this?
Switching to a local server can improve speed and performance of VPN, and thus of the apps you’re using on your device. To select a local server, open your browser settings and navigate to the Sleipnir Firewall + VPN tab.
Why does Sleipnir Firewall + VPN ask to install a profile during set up?
During initial setup of Sleipnir Firewall + VPN, you will be asked to install a profile on your device. In this case the profile is just a file that contains VPN connection details. The profile is necessary for the VPN to work, and to enable functionality like the filtering / blocking of trackers. Note that this profile is independent of the Sleipnir Browser.
For iOS users, Apple requires that users enter their device pin code / biometrics when setting up a VPN.
